Labels and information windows

Labels are static text references to objects that are on the map. If you import a data file, then labels are created from the records in the imported file. The maximum number of records that can be labelled is 5000. Labels are not created for an imported file which is classified as “Customers” but are created for an imported file which is classified as “Locations” provided it has 5000 records or less. You can edit the style of the labels within a layer using the Edit layer styling pane (see Layer styling panel).

You can click on a point on the map to display an information window. The information that the window displays is dependent of the type of point and the data that is contained within the layer. For example, for a Mosaic UK 7 point, the window displays the name of the layer, the postcode of the point and a hyperlink to the associated Mosaic UK 7 Group and Type to the Understand > Panels page within the Segmentation Portal (if you have an active subscription). You don't need to manually log in to the Segmentation Portal to go to the associated Group or Type.

For multiple points in the same layer which are displayed on top of each other on the map, next and previous chevron controls are displayed. You can use these controls to display or scroll through the information for each of the points. For example, in the above screenshot there are 4 pages which you can scroll through.

An information window is also used to display the details from an imported brick variable file. This information includes the brick ID and name, and the variable name and value.
